Benefits of choosing a local Pilates company

Apr 29, 2013   //   by David Canevaro   //   Company News  //  No Comments

If you’re thinking of taking up Pilates, there are many factors to look for when you’re thinking of which studio or gym to go with. Experience, quality of service and cost to name a few.

One often overlooked factor, however, is the proximity to your home or workplace!

In over the 7 years of providing treatments to clients, if there’s one pattern I have noticed with those clients who have been regular in their Pilates session compared to those who aren’t is that they live locally.

Of course, it all starts with your inner commitment. No matter how close your Pilates studio is to you, without commitment and your drive to live a healthy live, chance are, you aren’t going to continue. However, if you know you want to, ensuring that your studio (or gym) is as close to you as possible, can help you succeed in this area.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Osteopathy

Apr 29, 2013   //   by David Canevaro   //   Company News  //  No Comments

What can I expect during my initial osteopathy session?

During your first visit, one of our certified osteopaths will have you fill out a Patient Case History form which helps us understand your medical history and any conditions that we may need to be aware of so we can help tailor a program that will be most effective for you.

We always advise our clients to come in wearing loose or comfortable clothing as we will initially need to determine various things such as your posture, tension zones and so on. Of course, a patient gown is always to hand if you need one.

How long does a treatment session take?

Generally speaking, this will depend on the treatment being carried out, your physical condition and/or problems. You should allow anywhere between 45 minutes to up to an hour for a session.

Is osteopathy painful?

The treatments themselves aren’t. However, sometimes, depending on the areas of the body we are treating and your inherent pain levels there, you may experience discomfort during the treatment.

How does osteopathy work?

Osteopathy is primarily concerned with the treatment of joints and restoring the normal functions of joints and help the body heal itself.

Using hands, it uses a variety of gentle and sometimes forceful, if necessary, techniques to carry out
-    Massage to release tension and relax muscles
-    Stretching to prevent overwork and injury
-    Articulation which moves your joints through it’s natural range of motion to prevent soreness

Welcome back! I love new visitors just as much as I love the regulars – whether you’re new or not it doesn’t matter, just have a read and see if my Central London Osteopathy services can help you (or a friend) or not.

Central London Osteopathy

If you haven’t had the chance to scroll down and read all of my other blogs, do so now! If you’re too stubborn/lazy to do so, I don’t blame you, however, it means that I’ll need to repeat myself to a few of the regular visitors (apologies). My Central London osteopathy services are for absolutely anyone with an ongoing muscle ache or strain, or perhaps a one-off injury.

As you would expect, I’m a qualified London Osteopath instructor and have the certificates to prove it (ask me for evidence!). There’s nothing worse than being treated by an ‘instructor’ with no experience, training and qualifications.

What problems do my clients have?

On a daily basis my Central London osteopathy services treat problems such as, but not limited to; joint pain, back pain, frozen shoulders, tennis elbow, problem periods, arthritis, headaches, mobility problems and many, many different sports injuries – these are just a few, give me a call and I can guarantee the problem that you’re facing is something that I’ve dealt with in the past.

For more information on my Central London Osteopathy services give me, David Canevaro, a call on 020 7127 8771 or click on the Contact link to send an email – I’ll email back ASAP.
