Joint Pain Treatment London

Have you recently experienced pain, swelling or stiffness in your joints?

Are you an older person and are interested in pinpointing the exact cause of your joint pain?

Or perhaps you are an athlete, pregnant woman or office worker and are interested in professional and appropriate treatment for your joint pain?

If so, just contact Registered London Osteopath, David Canevaro today. Joint pain, which is often experienced in the hip or shoulder, is a common reason to consult osteopathic services.

Joint pain is particularly prevalent in older people – but not exclusively so, which is why it is important to have yours diagnosed and treated.

What are the symptoms of joint pain?

Exact joint pain symptoms differ depending on the cause. You may experience pain, stiffness, swelling or warmth, which suggests that the joints may be inflamed due to injury or infection.

Alternatively, you may have joints that are red, swollen and painful to touch, with restricted joint mobility. Such pain may come from the joint itself, the tissues that surround it or an affected tendon or ligament.

What causes joint pain?

Joint pain is associated with getting older, and indeed many older people may experience increased stiffness in their joints with the passing years which osteopathic treatment can relieve.

Age is not the only reason why your joints may be painful, however. Other, more serious causes include the autoimmune disorder rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, which involves the degeneration of joint cartilage, as well as gout, metabolic disorders or even tumours.

How our London Osteopaths treat joint pain?

David Canevaro regularly assesses a wide range of joints, including hips, knees, shoulders, ankles, hands and elbows. He will diagnose you on the basis of how you are using your joints and whether your gait is affecting your posture and spine.

David will then devise a suitable personalised treatment plan, whether you are suffering from arthritic joints, cartilage injuries, swollen joints or ligament strains. Once a diagnosis has been made, he can also refer you to a medical specialist if necessary.
