Western Medical Acupuncture for fertility
Western medical acupuncture, or ‘dry needling’, is an advanced acupuncture technique adapted from Chinese acupuncture, but using the modern medical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, combined with the principles of Western medicine. It involves the painless insertion of extremely fine hair-like needles into acupoints in the body where nerves enter a muscle, midpoint of a muscle or where the muscle joins with the bone, the enthesis. Acupuncture is used to rebalance disturbances in the body’s muscular-skeletal framework and reduce pain. The acupoints are sometimes gently stimulated by hand or electrical pulses.
If conventional treatment has failed to alleviate chronic and enervating pain in your neck, back, shoulder, leg or the anguish of headaches, muscle strains, sports injuries or other arthritic pain, David’s advanced acupuncture could be your salvation. It is a holistic system for the treatment of a variety of medical ailments by relieving symptoms and rebalancing the body’s energy systems. David, a registered Acupuncturist with long experience, uses ‘western acupuncture’ exclusively, which some of his patients who have a fear of needles find entirely acceptable.
David can best treat a patient if he understands both their illness and their complex of emotional and intellectual attributes that determine their characteristic actions and reactions. Not only does he consider the symptoms of a patient’s ailment, which may be in a wide range of physical, psychological and muscular-skeletal locations, he observes the patient’s well-being. He may ask, “When does the pain start?” “Where exactly do you feel it?” “What does it feel like?” “Is it affected by bright light?” By a combination of observation and questioning, in addition to diagnosis, David is able to treat headaches, chest and back pain, gynaecological problems, digestive disorders, and many other ailments.
Acupuncture benefits
Acupuncture has a significant impact on all of your body’s systems, reducing pain and improving well-being as a result. Injuries, particularly spinal injuries, can result in the development of severe muscle spasms. When these muscles are treated with acupuncture, the contractions are reduced, and the body quickly returns to its normal pain-free state.
David is certified by the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and has a great many years of experience applying acupuncture techniques to people in pain and seeking relief. Treatment is determined for each individual patient and normally takes place each week initially but may change later during the course of five to eight sessions.
