Do you have non-specific back pain or stiff shoulders due to bad posture? Are you suffering from arthritis or other debilitating conditions? Clinical Pilates could be the answer to your needs. This form of low-impact physical activity can help you regain mobility and strengthen your body whilst also losing weight and getting in shape. No matter the issue, at London Osteopathy Clinic we can help.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a type of physical activity that focuses on reinforcing your body strength and balance. It is often used by people who want to lose weight, but specific clinical Pilates – also called osteopilates – is also a powerful therapeutic activity that can treat many musculoskeletal and mental health issues.

Can Anybody do Pilates?

Pilates is a form of low-impact physical activity suitable for most people. It is indicated to athletes recovering after an injury, people with arthritis or other mobility issues, pregnant women, the elderly, or overweight people who want to achieve their weight losing goals.

You should, however, ask your GP’s advice before joining a Pilates class if you suffer from high blood pressure, arrhythmia, severe osteoporosis, or if you have or have had blood clots in your legs or any other parts of your body.
